Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer

Mr Underwood was appointed as an Executive of Empire and a Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Company’s wholly owned subsidiary, Imperial Oil & Gas Pty Ltd on the 6 March 2018. Mr Underwood has nearly 15 years of specialist upstream oil and gas investing and financing experience. Previously he spent 2 years with the Commonwealth Bank of Australia, Singapore as Director of Natural Resources and spent 9 years with Macquarie Bank in Sydney and Singapore as Associated Director of Energy Markets Division

Interim Chairman/Non-Executive Director
Mr Sutton has many years experience in sharebroking and investment banking. He currently owns and manages Dayton Way Financial Pty Ltd, a boutique financial services company focussing on the global resource sector.

Ms Tang has over 12 years’ of experience within the finance and energy sectors and is currently employed by China Citic Bank International, New York as a Financial Manager. Previously she spent 7 years in the Energy Finance SBU at China Minsheng Banking Corporation, Beijing, China. Previous to that she was the Financial Manager for Global Oil Corporation Limited which has among other operating assets,three Production Sharing Contracts with PetroChina in Jilin province, China. Ms Tang has an MBA in Accounting(Monmouth University, NJ, USA) and a Bachelor of Technology.
|Mr P Espie||
Mr Paul Espie AO was the founding principal of Pacific Road Capital, a manager of private equity funds investing in the resources sector internationally, in 2006. He was Chairman of Oxiana Limited during the development of the Sepon copper/gold project in Laos (2000 to 2003) and prior to that Chairman of Cobar Mines Pty Ltd after a management buy-out in 1993. Mr Espie was previously responsible for Bank of America operations in Australia, New Zealand and Papua New Guinea and Chairman of the Australian Infrastructure Fund. He is a Director of Aurelia Metals Limited, a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, Trustee of the Australian Institute of Mining & Metallurgy, Educational Endowment Fund, and a Director of the Menzies Research Centre.
|Mr J Gerahty||
Mr John Gerahty is a former investment banker and company director with wide experience in business and commerce. He was a Founding Director of Macquarie Bank and has served as a director of a considerable number of publicly listed companies, including roles as Chairman of AFP Group PLC and MPI Mines Ltd. He is currently Chairman of Hardie Grant Pty Ltd publishing group, its major shareholder Associated Media Investments Pty Ltd, and an associated company AMI Advertising Media Pty Ltd. He is also a Director of Kaplan Partners Pty Ltd and Kaplan Funds Management Pty Ltd, as well as his family owned Liangrove group companies. He was formerly a Director (and Chairman) of the Sydney Swans, a Director of Cricket NSW, and a Trustee of the SCG Trust.

Ms Dadswell was appointed Joint Company Secretary on 13 Friday 2018. Ms Dadswell is employed by Boardroom Pty Limited in their Corporate Secretarial Services Division. Ms Dadswell is a qualified and experienced Chartered Company Secretary and holds an Honours degree in Law.

B.Bus (Acct) (Fin) Ms Arizabaleta was appointed to the position of Financial Controller on 5 March 2012. Previously she spent 8 years at Chartered Accounting firms working as an external auditor providing audit and assurance services.
|Dr John Warburton||
Non- Executive Director Imperial Oil & Gas Pty Ltd
Dr Warburton was appointed as an advisor to the Company in February 2010. He is a Non-Executive Director of the Company’s wholly owned subsidiary Imperial Oil & Gas Pty Ltd which holds the Company’s extensive petroleum exploration acreage in Australia’s Northern Territory.
A Geoscientist by profession, John has 31 years of technical and leadership experience in International Petroleum E&P including with BP and as General Manager Exploration & New Business for Eni in Pakistan. John is a Director of Sydney based Petroleum Business Consultancy Insight Exploration which is a Sustaining Member of the Petroleum Exploration Society of Great Britain.
John’s extensive operated & non-operated petroleum expertise covers the Middle East, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, North & West Africa, Pakistan, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, PNG, SE Asia, China, Korea and Japan. John has been involved in the discovery of commercial oil & gas fields in Pakistan, UK, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan and PNG and he has published 28 internationally recognised technical articles with particular focus on petroleum exploration in complex fold and thrust belts.
John has a first class B.Sc. Honours Degree in Geological Sciences and a Ph.D. in Structural Geology. He is a Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, an Alumni of Cranfield Business School UK and a Fellow of the Geological Society of London and serves on the External Advisory Board at the Centre for Integrated Petroleum Engineering and Geoscience at the University of Leeds, UK.
